SuperKids in Sherbrooke - a partnership between SuperChefs and Enactus

My name is Ryan Chang (3rd year Business Student at Bishops University) and I am launching an Enactus project in partnership with SuperChefs called SuperKids of Sherbrooke. We will be teaching kids culinary and financial skills at Bishops University. SuperChefs has successfully run cooking camps throughout the summer for the past five years in Surrey BC and are entering their sixth year this summer. These camps aim to help promote our goal of wellness and health promotion in local communities by instilling food skills in kids aged 8-12 in the hope that this will create healthy food habits for life. Along with these summer camps, SuperChefs has had the privilege to showcase their talents at high profile culinary, wellness and travel events such as Eat Vancouver, Fusion Festival and The New York Times Travel Show.

Superchefs has enjoyed success in partnering with like-minded Fortune 500 companies that are community minded and who have strong ties to their communities through their corporate social responsibility programs. In 2014, SuperChefs partnered with Westin Hotels and Resorts (part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts) to create the Westin Kids Eat Well menu that provides healthy menu options for traveling families. The menu we created is a global brand standard and has been well received globally in 200 Westin locations. At the launch event, SuperChefs lead a kids cooking and media event that resulted in 180 million impressions, and through this partnership SuperChefs classes have been run at no cost for kids in India, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Europe and many major cities in the U.S. and Canada including New York, Washington DC, Boston, Denver, Phoenix, Vancouver and many more, and illustrates how social enterprise (the menu) can benefit corporate social responsibility programs on a national and global level.
