SuperChefs continue to cook up good health at UBC and in the community of Surrey!
On February 28, 2017 SuperChefs had the honour of receiving two awards for the continuing efforts to promote the health of youth worldwide. The University of British Columbia Health Awards were held at the Sage Bistro at University Centre with UBC President Santa Ono welcoming all award winners to the event.
The team of Dr. Leeann Donnelly (Dentistry/Dental Hygiene), Dr. Gail Hammond (UBC Dietetics) and Dr Greg Chang (SuperChefs) were awarded the 2016 Team Education Award for their efforts in creating resources and community outreach opportunities with student inter professional collaboration.
Later in the evening, the SuperChefs team attended the Surrey Community Foundation Serving With Distinction Awards at the Sheraton Guildford, with Dr. Greg and SuperChefs receiving a nomination for the 2017 Leadership Award for Outstanding Service in the Community. A table of SuperChefs team members were on hand for the gala, including Executive Chef Victor Bongo, Advisory members, volunteers and program directors including Alexandra Barone and Michelle Chow.
These awards are a tribute to the entire team of supporters, donors, advisers, volunteers and staff, and fuels our organization to continue our efforts to help children have confidence in their FACES!
Also in attendance was our photographer and Dr. Greg's wife, Nicole Chang - which proves behind every good man there’s an even better wife!!
